Born in Denmark, but now residing in London and Copenhagen, Wendy Plovman is one of the most respected fashion illustration artists. Her work is not only full of energy and originality, it’s also edgy and lyrical.

Due to her obvious talent, Wendy Plovmand has had an opportunity of working with both individuals and corporate. Some of the notable clients that she has been able to work with include: Guess, Dare magazine, Elle Girl, Glow Magazine, First Magazine, Top Shot, Johnson & Johnson, Unicef, The royal theater of Denmark, the republic of Fritz Hansen, Design Matters, Elle, Red Cross, Organic Pharmacy, Guardian and Timeout.    

In addition to working with multinational clients, Wendy has also been able to exhibit her work internationally. For example, she has exhibited in Copenhagen, London, New York, Berlin, Tokyo and the Advertising Agency New York.  Her work has also appeared in many prestigious books and publications such as those made by Victionary, Taschen, Die Gestalten and Images 32+34.
Her unique style has earned her many grants from national institutions such as the Art Foundation of Denmark, Danish Art Council, L.F. Foght foundation, Knud Hojaards Foundation, Politiken Foundation, The Cultural Ministry of Denmark and the National Bank of Denmark.

Background Information about Wendy Plovmand

Wendy has been working as a professional artist since graduating from Central Saint Martins school of Art in 2010 where she obtained a distinction. In the same year she graduated, she was chosen as a finalist in Scope Miami 2010, shortlisted for Future Maps 2010 and finalist in the Celeste Art Prize 2010.

In addition to her MA in Fine Art, Wendy Plovmand also holds an MA from the Royal Danish Academy of Arts, Design and Conservation, and School of Architecture.
Wendy Plovmand is one of the founders of New Shelter Plan which is a contemporary art venue in central Copenhagen.

In the images below, Wendy, an expert illustration rep combines multiple layers of photography, illustration, painting and typography. The work was created as collaboration for the Los Angles Company BKR. This is a company that sells hip glass beakers as water containers.

The first retrospective exhibition of the Welsh (born 1955) photographer Chalkie Davies is about to launch at the National Museum of Cardiff 9 May - 6 September 2015. 'Chalkie Davies - The NME Years' explores his photographs of musicians taken from the 1970s and 1980s. The exhibition looks mainly at the much revered Rock and Punk era, celebrating 40 years since his career at the NME began. The event will also coincide with the artist's 60th birthday.
